Blepharoplasty is a surgical procedure to remove excess skin and muscle from the upper and, or lower eyelids while tightening the eyelids.
Underlying fatty tissue that produces bagginess can be selectively removed or repositioned. The procedure takes about 1 hour for upper eyelids only and 2 hours for upper and lower eyelids. The procedure is performed as a day-case.
The resulting scar is a fine line, which falls into the natural crease.
